Mike and Fay Cart – Commissioner of Oaths for the
Supreme Court of Nova Scotia
Mike Cart is founder of Bay Recording Services and a Halifax born and Dalhousie educated (B.Comm) businessman.
Upon graduation from Dalhousie, Mike headed west on a scholarship in Operations Research to the University of Alberta while simultaneously studying for his MBA.
The “real world” then came calling and Mike joined IBM Canada, where he made his career rising through the ranks and truly embodied the
IBM (I’ve Been Moved) saying, relocating 11 different times, coast to coast in Canada as well as international postings.
Enhancing his education achievements along the way, Mike obtained certifications from Wharton in Marketing Studies and served as Executive in Residence at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Mike also participated in a two year Executive Exchange posting in the Department of National Defence and retired from IBM as President/General Manager of the Printing Systems Division just prior to IBM’s selling of the entity to Ricoh.
With Atlantic Canada in his blood stream and their sons off on their own worldly career adventures, Mike and Fay relocated to Nova Scotia in 2010.
Never one to stand idle, Mike has been associated with a variety of ventures in the Region and became involved with a leading Atlantic Canada Reporting Services company near its inception in 2016 and Court Reporting became a natural vocation for his skill set and personality. In 2021, a confluence of circumstances allowed this passion to take on another level in the creation of Bay Recording Services Limited.
When not servicing clients, you will find Mike and Fay, enjoying the spring through fall seasonal waters of St. Margaret’s Bay aboard their 32 foot Island Gypsy classic ......................... the SEAQUEL
Fay Cart’s professional background also came from IBM Canada. Focusing on Administrative and Training areas while gaining awards and recognition for her accomplishments along the way. Fay’s finely honed skills are perfect for work as a Court Reporter. Her attention to detail, her unfettered professionalism and passion for getting things right are hallmarks of excellence in this field. Fay was aligned with a leading Atlantic Canadian Reporting Services company for six years prior to it's closure in late January of 2021. Fay is an avid healthy fresh ingredient cook, wonderful and loved mother to our two sons and their partners as well as being a prolific reader. Fay also finds the time to participate in women's fashion retail organizations within the HRM.
